To keep any setting on the radio, including the backlight color, other menu options, and the channel you are on you need to save the options from the menu. To do this follow these steps:
1. Go to the channel you want
2. Press and release the menu/channel knob on the bottom left of the radio to enter the menu
3. Make any menu adjustments
4. Once completed, press and hold the same menu/channel button for a few seconds until you hear a long beep. Now the menu settings are saved and the radio will remember the channel after being turned off.
No. The digimic is designed for 6-pin President (and similar) radios as these radios provide power to the microphone. 4 pin radios do not send power to the mic, and as such this microphone would not work on anything it's not designed for.
The glass faceplate on the front of the radio has a protective film. Remove the film.
By default most CB'ers are using the AM mode.
P Channels are 5 pre-programmed FM channels with built-in CTCSS/DCS privacy codes. They’re designed to let users with equipped President radios communicate easily without interference. As long as everyone is using radios with the same P Channels, you can talk without having to hear every signal that's sent out on that channel.
Press and hold the channel knob to get into the menu, tap the knob to switch between menu options until you see SPAN, set SPAN to ON. Turn the radio off then on again, or key the microphone to save the value. Now when turning the channel knob you can fine tune the frequency in VFO mode.
I talk on this unit daily with a 3 foot firestik and it is works great! I am thinking of buying the 100 watt model for another side by side to try
I mainly bought this antenna for my President George FCC but I also used it on my IC-7100 10meter band. It works very well across 24 to 30 MHz. My highest swr was 1:1.7. I recommend this antenna highly.
