I have a 980 with this mic "Uniden Replacement 6 pin". I think this mic looks cool without being over the top. It's a LOT tougher than it looks and feels. Had it for 6 years and has survived my wife banging it around. Listening back to it coming through the talk back sounds great. You do need to get into this mic to "get that sound" if you know what I mean but it does that very well. It gets loud enough and to the point of being on the "edge", that is IF you enjoy that sort of thing. I don't get feedback with the talkback on set to #4 and in the truck and plenty loud enough. Sure, you can put a power mic on your radio using the supplied 4 pin to 6 pin adapter and get louder but....WHY? These mics were made to match the 880 and 990 Uniden Bearcat's and they did a good job.
