The VQ3 is Maco's newest V-Quad style antenna that they've been testing for the past 18 months. This version is similar to their original design but is a three element beam antenna instead of two. This design gives you the performance you'd expect out the larger Maco antennas, but in a a more compact design. They're directional antennas and has combined horizontal and vertical polarization that just needs one coax cable instead of two.

Awesome!!!

I used to run stacked VQ2's and could outdo most 4 element beams. I decided to test 4 of these antennas VQ3's and have stacked the four of them with awesome results. I tuned each antenna individually and then stacked them in an "H" configuration. I spent 6 months in the testing phase and now with 100 watts I'm usually s9 +20-30 from what people tell me. I cut mine for 10 meters and run 1500 watts at times and it's usually too much. I generally open and close the band on 10 meters. I'm running LMR400 cable to the antenna which sits on a Rohn 55 tower that folds over. Tower is only 65' high. I highly recommend this antenna over any 4 element antenna unless the 4 element antenna is in a true quad configuration.

Great Antenna

Light, easy to assemble. The performance on this antenna is outstanding , and the receive is phenomenal. I can hear a pin drop. Very low noise level if any. At this particular time , I only have 100 watts and I have talked everywhere. Very nice on side band. Using a Lincoln 2 +. I cannot say enough words to tell you how well this antenna performs. Get one ,you will see. Take care, Checkmate in Philadelphia got down.
