I installed this antenna on my 05 Ford Ranger near the hood. That being said, this antenna was easily tuned to a 1:1 SWR. The Firestik tuning tip made tuning simple. Just remember to place the antenna tip cap back on when reading the SWR for accurate adjustments. It is also slightly flexible which would be good if the antenna came in contact with a tree branch or something along those lines. Although every circumstance is different, I've been able to recieve and transmit around 5~+/-1 miles so far (the 2 weeks I've had it) with my cb set up. Very good antenna, highly recommend!

Excellent antenna. Matched up perfectly on the back of my Jeep. Sturdy enough that it doesn't flop around but flexible enough that if it hits something it will give. Took my about five minutes to get a 1.1 match.
