CB antennas affect the range of any CB radio system, however there are many variables that affect your range. Generally speaking, if you're using a tall antenna 6 feet or taller - your range will be as good as the conditions and your radio allow. The shorter the antenna is, the more negatively affected your range would be. For example, if you can talk 15 miles with a 6 foot antenna. A 3 foot antenna might reduce your range down to 2-3 miles.
