GM2L Fender Mount for Chevy Silverado, Avalanche and Suburban Reviews

GM2L Review By: Chuck F. on 06/25/2010
  • Product Review: GM2L Fender Mount for Chevy Silverado, Avalanche and Suburban
  • Pros: Fits perfectly! Very thick metal, Not sheet metal. Look like a factory installed item. Ideal for Ham radio use. Can easily be enlarge using a 5/8 drill bit to fit SO239 connector. If a black antenna is used it will gives a very stealth appearance.
  • Cons: Hardware. To install this mount it would be wise to purchase a 3/8 longer bolt, a couple extra washers and nuts, all in stainless steel, because of the very tight fixing area that this mount fits into it may best to have a friend very long fingers or very small hands to start the hardware for you! I do a good bit of buying online, as it appears that I can save so much money. I have been faithful to a competitor of yours, but they were out of stock and I turned to you for a try. To be honest, if I have my order by this weekend, not only will I be very impressed, I will become YOUR newest faithful customer. Besides, the previous vendors' shipping department left a whole lot to be desired. Thanking you in advance, and thanks for doing a great job - I appreciate that. Rob

Just wanted to thank you for your service on this order. I received the replacement slip seat box and speaker, and also the correct size slip seat box cover earlier this week, in two shipments. The cover was the correct size this time (I sent the smaller one back with the supplied ground label), but more importantly, the replacement slip seat box and speaker were received in beautiful condition; while the first slip seat box was shipped in just the manufacturer's box, with no additional shipping box or material, and the speaker rattling around inside it, the second shipment was packed with bubble material in addition to an exterior shipping carton. Had the original shipment been packed in the same manner the replacement was, I'm sure there would have been no damage whatsoever. UPS came on 4/27 and picked up the original carton with the damaged slip seat box and speaker enclosed. Again, thank you for taking a personal interest in this oder and for resolving it so efficiently. I hope to do business with Walcott again, and will make an effort to stop in when I next get out to the Iowa 80 area. Sincerely, Doug Lyons
