A great side band CB with a classic look and straight forward control layout. There are no hidden menus or functions on this radio, so it's easy to use and adjust without digging up the manual.
The Galaxy DX-959G is a new twist on an old favorite radio. The original 959 was one of the most popular CB's with single side band when they were introduced back in the late 80's and now there's an updated version that will be sure to live up to it's predecessor.
Display Lights:
The first thing people familiar with the older DX959 will notice is the lighting got a big upgrade all around. The channel display and meter lights have been updated to blue LED's and the five digit frequency counter now includes an amber display. Plus you can set the brightness of the LED's with the variable dimmer control or push the dimmer control in and you can completely shut off the channel and frequency display lights.
Another addition is the EL faceplate design that helps you see the lettering in a dark environment. In the daylight the background lettering glows faintly, but in a dark cab you'll be able to read the controls clearly and not fumble with the wrong settings.
Side Band:
The most popular aspect of these CB's is having USB and LSB (upper side band, and lower side band) modes as well as the standard AM. To the left of the frequency display you have a clarifier control that allows you to fine tune the frequency to dial in stations more clearly.
