The Wilson 2000 CB antenna has a higher gain performance that is the result of several new design developments that bring you the most powerful Wilson trucker CB antenna available in its price range. A large portion of the power that goes into a typical loaded CB antenna is lost as heat in the coil and as dielectric heat loss in the plastic inside the coil form.
Many CB antennas lose more than 50% of the power put into them. The power is wasted as heat loss and is not radiated as radio waves. Another weak link in other CB antennas is the capacitor used to match the coax to the antenna. This is a cheap and easy way to make the SWR look good, but has lots of power loss, plus blows out when high power is applied to it.
The first priority was to reduce the dielectric loss in the Wilson 2000 CB antenna by removing as much of the plastic inside the coil as possible. This was accomplished by suspending the coil in air, supported only at four small points, 90 apart, in effect removing 95% of the plastic from the inside surface of the coil. This reduced the dielectric loss to a negligible amount.
The second priority was to get rid of the resistive heat loss in the coil. Since most of the RF energy at 27 MHz travels on the surface of the wire, it was decided to increase the surface area by making the diameter of the wire a larger 10 gauge copper. Since silver is a much better conductor than copper, although very expensive, the wire was heavily silver plated. This reduced the resistive loss to a minimum. Any power loss in the coil is practically eliminated in the Wilson trucker CB antenna.
Installed this today. I am using it with bracket GM2L Antenna Mount Kit on my 2005 Chevy Silverado. I love everything about it. Took it for a quick field test onto our closest highway. And I was already working the channel before I even got to the ramp, miles away... This is my first whip style antenna, normally use firesticks on my 18 wheeler. But wanted to try this for my 4x4. So far so good!Too early to tell, but so far so good... And judging from the other reviews, it looks as if it will stay that way.Wilson Antenna Trucker 2000 10" Shaft

I run this ant. on a mirror mount with 18 feet of coax, never a single problem one. Being on a dumptruck mine takes a limb smacking about daily, but dang they really hold up great. The one i currently have is 8 years old and still going strong with a swr of 1.2:1 across the band!!!

Outstanding antenna!. Lives up to its clams. The WILSON Trucker 2000 does what I need it to do and more. Easy to cut the SWR on co-phase set up. Teamed up with my GALAXY DX 959 I run SWR at 1-1:2 / 1:3 across the board. Like they say,
