After being unlocked for the North American market. The radio does kick butt. Receive modulation is great and pull stations out of the weeds with the best of them. Transmit modulation is great if you want it to be. Turn on or up the roger beep, Ego , power mike, and talk back and you can sound like the biggest, badass billy bigrig of all time. Takes a little bit of work to get things set where you want them to be with a second station. All this is on a second menu and once set it can be left alone. SWR meter in the radio is nice. No sideband or weather station receiver. (Remember sideband is where the "can you hear me now???" guy went.) Would be nice if the band button could be locked. Way to easy to bump and go into European bands and/or FM which the average Joe will not use and wonder why once bumped the radio doesn't work. This is as big of a transmit power load that you want to run through a cigarette lighter plug. Radio does power up on the channel you powered down on. Remember to register on President USA Web page for the 2 or 5 year warranty.
