Just as good as a $100-$150 meter, great for tuning a mobile antenna.Amber or yellow when illuminated, white would be nicer. Just as accurate as a Dosey but way cheaper in price. Easy to calibrate if the 4 scales are off, mine was but i love to work on CB stuff. I wouldnt call it a "Starter" meter, just a meter for someone on a tight budget.

Good starter meter. All the scales show different amounts of wattage. For example, the 50W scale will show 5and the 5W scale will show 2.

I bought this meter and have used it in mobile and base applacations.I found it to be a very dependable and reliable meter for an everyday in-line use meter.The light {12vt}is nice,however I run about 3 to 4 hundred watts through it and the light goes on by itself.This is also a great meter for peak envolope readings.
